Claes Oldenburg
Claes Oldenburg (Swedish/American, 1929–2022) was a leading Pop artist whose work transformed ordinary everyday objects into playful explorations of scale, form, and consumer culture. While best known for his monumental public sculptures, Oldenburg was also an accomplished printmaker, producing lithographs, etchings, and screenprints that translated his distinctive imagery into intimate formats. His prints retain the wit and humor of his larger works while emphasizing bold line, vibrant color, and the artist’s fascination with familiar objects viewed in unexpected ways.
