Michelle O’Michael
Raised in the Permian Basin, Michelle O’Michael (American 1948) creates vertical sculptures inspired by the west Texas vast skies, wind, and industrial landscape. Her work explores the interaction of mass, space, and shadow through spirals and arches, forms that symbolize cycles of life and change. With a background rooted in both art and blacksmithing, O’Michael describes her practice as “calligraphy in the round,” seeking to evoke primal human responses to beauty through scale, proportion, and movement.
