Rolph Scarlett

Rolph Scarlett (Canadian/American 1889–1984) was an abstract painter and designer known for his geometric, non-objective compositions. He began his artistic training through private instruction and a jewelry apprenticeship before briefly studying at the Art Students League in New York. Influenced by European modernism and artists such as Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, Scarlett became an important figure in the development of American abstract art.
