Nathan Solano (American 1950) is a painter and illustrator whose career began after extensive work in commercial fields. Born in Utah and raised in Colorado, he came from a family of coal miners and farmers. He briefly attended the University of Colorado before serving as a U.S. Army infantry sergeant during the Vietnam War. After returning to civilian life, Solano worked in advertising as an illustrator, photographer, and art director in Colorado and Florida. He later transitioned into a full-time painter, developing his studio work after relocating to Colorado, where he continues to live and work.
