Stanley Marcus

Stanley Marcus (American 1926–2017) was a sculptor, educator, and art historian known for welded and cast aluminum sculptures that often incorporated ceramics, glass, and musical instruments. Raised in New York City, he earned a history degree from New York University and later received a doctorate in education from Teachers College, Columbia University. He began teaching in the art department at The University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 1976, where he remained until his retirement in 1992.
