Jay Phillips
Jay Phillips (American, 1954–1987) was an artist born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, known for abstract geometric works that combined painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Working with cut and folded metal sheets as well as silkscreen, he created bold compositions defined by crisp forms and vibrant color. Phillips received the Los Angeles County Museum's Young Talent Award in 1981, and his innovative approach explored the relationship between two-dimensional design and three-dimensional space.
