Amado M. Peña Jr.
Amado M. Peña Jr. (American 1943) is a visual artist and educator born in Laredo, Texas, whose work reflects his Mexican and Yaqui heritage and his experiences along the U.S.–Mexico border. He earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in art and education from Texas A&M University–Kingsville. Primarily known for printmaking, Peña creates bold, expressive images that celebrate Indigenous traditions, the landscapes of the Southwest, and the resilience of Native and Mexican American cultures through dynamic compositions and rich symbolism.
