Dave McGary
Dave McGary (American 1958-2013) was a sculptor known for highly detailed bronze sculptures depicting Native American subjects and the history of the American West. Raised on a cattle ranch in Wyoming, he began sculpting in clay as a child and later studied bronze casting and the human figure in Italy on scholarship. Influenced by his friendships within the Oglala Sioux Tribe, McGary combined historical research with Renaissance-inspired sculptural techniques to create emotionally expressive works that emphasized cultural storytelling, individuality, and the traditions of the American West.
