Ron Hicks
Ron Hicks (American 1965) is a figurative painter known for atmospheric portraits and intimate narrative scenes that combine representational imagery with expressive abstraction. Born in Columbus, Ohio, and raised in Denver, Colorado, Hicks studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design and the Colorado Art Institute. Influenced by artists such as Rembrandt, Velázquez, and Whistler, he creates layered compositions that emphasize emotion, gesture, and psychological presence through muted color palettes and textured painterly surfaces.
