Royce Howes
Royce Howes (American 1950) is known for paintings and newspaper photo collages that explore abstraction, image fragmentation, and layered visual narratives. He received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the Tyler School of Art, and also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Howes first exhibited in New York in 1982 at the Charles Cowles Gallery, and his work later entered the collections of institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum.
