Nicholas Krushenick
Nicholas Krushenick (American 1929–1999) was associated with Pop Art and postwar abstraction, best known for developing a distinctive “pop abstract” style in the early 1960s. Born in the Bronx, New York, he studied at the Art Students League of New York and the Hans Hofmann School of Fine Arts. Alongside his brother John, he co-founded the influential Brata Gallery in Manhattan, which exhibited many emerging artists of the period. Krushenick’s artworks are recognized for their bold color, graphic intensity, and cartoon-like forms that merged the visual language of Pop Art with the energy of Abstract Expressionism.
