Antonio Carreño (American 1963) was born in the Dominican Republic and studied at the National School of Art in Santo Domingo before migrating to the United States in 1980. He later continued his training at the Art Students League in New York. Carreño’s work extends the legacy of Latin American Surrealism, creating dreamlike compositions rooted in spirituality and symbolic language.
