Mamie Carpenter (American, 1925–2003) was an abstract painter and art educator based in Odessa, Texas. She earned a BS from Boston University and an MA from the University of Georgia and taught art at Odessa High School from 1957 to 1981. Through her teaching, she helped develop the school's painting, drawing, and sculpture programs and mentored generations of students in West Texas.
