Nicola Simbari
Nicola Simbari (Italian 1927–2012) was a painter and printmaker known for his vibrant, expressionistic depictions of Mediterranean life, figures, and landscapes. Born in San Lucido, Calabria, and raised in Rome, he studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, where early exposure to architecture influenced his strong sense of structure and composition. By the 1950s he was exhibiting internationally, developing a signature style built on bold color, texture, and dynamic, light-filled surfaces.
