Ann Templeton

Ann Templeton (American 1936–2011) was a painter and educator known for her expressive landscapes and still lifes in oil and pastel. Born in Houston, Texas, she studied with painters Sergei Bongart and Wolf Kahn, developing a vibrant approach to color that she described as “symbolic expression.” Painting professionally since 1969, Templeton taught workshops throughout the United States and abroad, authored instructional materials, and served as a lecturer and juror for numerous art organizations.
