Peter Mackie
Peter Mackie (American 1950) is an artist working across painting, film, photography, and installation. After earning a BFA from the University of Michigan and an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art, he studied under George Ortman. His practice explores the intersection of image and motion through “Expanded Cinema,” airbrush painting he described as “painting with light,” and later photographic and video-based constructions. He was associated with Abstract Illusionism and continues to work across several mediums.
