Lettie Lee (American 1899–1995) was an American fashion designer and entrepreneur born in Odessa, Texas. Originally named Flora Belle Thain, she adopted the professional name Lettie Lee while building a successful clothing business in Los Angeles during the 1920s and 1930s. Known for glamorous ready-to-wear designs, she created costumes and gowns for Hollywood productions and actors including Fay Wray and Claire Dodd. Lee founded the company Lettie Lee: Hollywood Couturiere, which became a major fashion enterprise during the Depression era. Her work was widely promoted through film tie-ins and department store campaigns, and by the mid-1930s her company employed hundreds of workers. Her career bridged Hollywood costume design and commercial fashion, contributing to the growing influence of California style in American clothing design.
