Susan Plum
Susan Plum (American 1944) is based in Houston, Texas, known for work that combines glass, installation, and painting. Raised in Mexico City, she studied at the University of Arizona, the University of the Americas in Mexico City, and later at the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington. She has also taught at Pilchuck and at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. Plum’s practice is influenced by Magical Realism, Surrealism, and indigenous spiritual traditions. Her work often reflects themes of cosmology, ritual, and the relationship between humans and nature, drawing from her studies with shamans in Mexico and spiritual teachers in India.
