Janet Fish
Janet Fish (American 1938–2025) was a painter celebrated for luminous still lifes exploring light, color, and perception. Raised in Bermuda and educated at Yale, she developed a distinctive approach to painting transparent and reflective objects such as glassware, fruit, and packaged goods. Fish’s work transforms everyday subjects into complex studies of atmosphere, gesture, and shifting light, emphasizing perception over narrative or symbolism.
