Frank Gervasi

Frank Gervasi (Italian/American 1895-1986) was born in Palermo, Sicily and immigrated to New York in 1908 at age 13, He later studied at the Art Students League under Robert Henri and George Luks. After losing his right arm in World War I, he learned to paint with his left, inspiring other veterans. Gervasi studied at the Art Students League and became a National Academy of Design member in 1956. He relocated to Marfa, Texas in 1960, where he painted landscapes until his death.
