Darryl Hughto

Darryl Hughto (American 1943) from Watertown, New York, is an abstract painter and sculptor known for his work in color abstraction and later expansions into figurative and landscape painting. He received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 1969 and began exhibiting in New York at Tibor de Nagy Gallery in 1971. In 1977, he was included as a Theodoron Award artist in an exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum. Hughto later expanded his practice to include nudes, still life, and landscape painting, as well as sculpture in steel, synthetic stone, pigmented concrete, and powder-coated metal.
