Connie Kiener

Connie Kiener (American 1945) studied at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, and in Umbria, Italy. She has exhibited in galleries nationwide and has received numerous awards and commissions, including a major project for the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Her work is rooted in the tradition of majolica, a low-fire ceramic technique known for its richly painted surfaces. In this process, artists apply colorful glazes to a white, tin-based coating, creating bright, detailed designs that remain vivid after firing.
