Bob Kane
Bob Kane (American 1939-2013) was a painter known for expressive compositions built from flattened planes of vibrant color and strong spatial structure. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he studied under Will Barnet at the Art Students League in New York, whose teaching became a major influence on his development as an artist. Kane’s work is often inspired by place, particularly Provincetown, Massachusetts, and the Mediterranean coastal regions of Italy and France, where he found subjects marked by light, color, and atmosphere.
