Nick Kosciuk

Nick Kosciuk (American 1964) is known for his portraits. Born in New Jersey, he studied painting at the University of Washington and developed a largely self-directed practice informed by literature, music, and historical painting traditions. In 2001, visits to orphanages in Eastern Europe became a major influence on his work, inspiring a long-term commitment to supporting orphaned children through the sale of his paintings. His portraits are recognized for their careful observation, psychological sensitivity, and direct, intimate approach to the human figure.
