Alfred Egerton Cooper

Alfred Egerton Cooper (British, 1883–1974) was a painter of portraits, figures, and landscapes. He studied at Bilston School of Art and the Royal College of Art, graduating in 1911, and briefly assisted John Singer Sargent. A veteran of World War I, he later served as an official war artist to the RAF. Cooper exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy and Paris Salon, and painted notable portraits of King George VI and Winston Churchill.
