Paul Maxwell
Paul Maxwell (American 1925-2015) was a sculptor, painter, printmaker, and educator known for developing and patenting a process he called “stencil-casting,” a relief-based technique related to silkscreen printing that could be applied to paper, wood, vinyl, fabric, and large-scale surfaces. His work often explored texture, scale, and abstraction across multiple media. Maxwell was also active in arts education, producing television programming focused on art and founding the Contemporary Arts Foundation in Oklahoma City. His large mural at the Dallas Apparel Mart, known as the “Max Wall,” was featured in the film Logan's Run.
