Rod Goebel
Rod Goebel (American 1946–1993) was a painter associated with Taos, New Mexico, known for expressive landscapes, portraits, still lifes, and figure paintings rooted in direct observation. Born in Austin, Texas, he studied at the University of New Mexico and the Colorado Institute of Art before settling in Taos. A founding member of the Taos Six and an Academician of the National Academy of Western Art, Goebel developed a vigorous Post-Impressionist style marked by energetic brushwork and vivid color.
