Margit Ilika
Margit Ilika (American 1947) is a painter and collage artist whose work explores memory, perception, and the associative nature of imagery through layered compositions she describes as “Quantum Collage.” She earned a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MFA from the Universidad de las Américas. Working with found images and recycled printed materials, Ilika combines painting and collage to create dreamlike juxtapositions that investigate collective memory, visual culture, and the relationships between images, ideas, and personal experience.
