Kyong Ae Kim

Kyong Ae Kim (South Korean/American 1976) artwork’s combines drawing, painting, and intricate paper cutting to create layered visionary landscapes informed by both Eastern and Western artistic traditions. She earned a BFA from Chung Ang University in Seoul and an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Kim transforms digitally altered photographic imagery into meticulously hand-crafted compositions that explore themes of coexistence, vulnerability, and the relationship between humans, animals, and the natural world.
