Katherine Bowling
Katherine Bowling (American 1955) is a New York–based artist known for her luminous, meditative landscapes inspired by the Hudson Valley, where she lives and works. Drawing from the legacy of the Hudson River School, her paintings evoke a quiet sense of mystery and Romanticism, often using subtle symbolism and atmospheric light. Bowling’s careful handling of space and expressive brushwork brings a contemporary sensibility to this historic tradition. Born in Washington, D.C., she earned her BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1978 and has exhibited widely across the United States since the early 1980s.
