Ho Baron
Ho Baron (American 1941) draws on both his Texas upbringing and his experiences abroad. While serving in the Peace Corps in Nigeria and Ethiopia, he became fascinated by traditional African art and its intuitive, symbolic forms. His imaginative sculptures explore the human figure through surreal imagery and metaphor. His work combines figuration with abstract motifs, reflecting his intuitive process and his long career in Texas, where he developed a distinctive voice in bronze and cast stone sculpture.
