This year the Ellen Noël Art Museum is collaborating with the Odessa College Mass Media Department and the West Texas Film Festival to show film shorts submitted to the festival in our museum.

Abbie is a good mom, strong and a survivor...but Abbie is struggling. She struggles in her daily routine and in her relationship with her teenage son Evan. The effect of a sexual assault years earlier weighs heavy on her. As these deep embedded feelings work their way out like a splinter, Abbie and her son reach a pivotal moment in both of their lives.

Adventures in Art

Ceramics- Make a ceramic piece which will then be fired in the museum kiln

Come explore the exiting world or art with Adventures in Art, a fun program of gallery walks, art history and creative studio art classes for children ages 6-12. Held one Sunday each month from 2:30-4:30pm, these classes are great ways for kids to learn more about art! Class size is limited so registrar today! DEADLINE IS THE THURSDAY BEFORE EACH CLASS, but many classes full early. 

A limited number of scholarships are available: the Ellen Noël Memorial Scholarship from Mr. & Mrs. Earl Rodman and the Neely Hunter Palmer Memorial fund. Contact Annie at 432.550.9696 x213 for more information.

Juried Art Exhibition Opening and Awards

60th Annual Permian Basin Juried Art Exhibition

The Permian Basin Juried Art Exhibition  aims to highlight the talent of artists in and around the West Texas region. This year, artists were encouraged to explore the theme METAMORPHOSIS.

Juror, Laura Huckaby, is the Assistant Director of the San Angelo Museum of Fine Art. She has a Master’s in Art History from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

The exhibition is hosted by the Ellen Noël Art Museum in partnership with the Odessa Art Association.
