What: Metal Arts is a national juried metal art exhibit presented by the Ellen Noël Art Museum.
Who: Any person working with metal as an integral part of traditional or non-traditional art-making processes. Metal, by our definition, is any ferrous (iron) or non-ferrous metal substance that is used in the creation of art.
Where: Ellen Noël Art Museum at 4909 E. University Blvd.>, Odessa, Texas.
When: June 27, 20087 through August 22, 2008
Juror: Sherry Owens, a native Texan, lives and works in Dallas. She received a BFA from Southern Methodist University in 1972 and the Moss/Chumley North Texas Artist Award in 1999. Ms. Owens has been in numerous exhibitions throughout Texas and the southwest including solo exhibitions at Haggar Gallery, University of Dallas; Women & their Work, Austin; Martin Museum, Baylor University; and Irving Arts Center; and Southwest Texas State University. Most recently she participated in an invitational exhibit at the National Museum and Museum of Modern Art in Peru. Her work is in many corporate and private collections, including Stephan Pyles Restaurant, Dallas; American Airlines, Austin; Meadows School of the Arts, Dallas; the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts, Honolulu, Hawaii; Neiman Marcus, Dallas and Hawaii; and the Texas Sculpture Garden, Hall Office Park, Frisco, TX.
Awards: $2,500 in total prize monies will be awarded. A “People’s Choice” award will be given at the end of the exhibition.
Entries and Fees: Postmarked by April 21, 2008
$10 per entry or $25 for three entries. Complete the entry form and submit Digital media (CD’s). Please send three views for each entry. Include a Word.doc with list and thumbnail photos of each entry. Also include a self-addressed letter size stamped envelope for notification of acceptance or non-acceptance.

Submission Guidelines
Artist may submit up to three entries
Contact the Ellen Noël Art Museum two weeks before delivery if you enter art works larger than 10 feet or requires more than 36 square feet of space. If your artwork requires special installation please call 432-550-9696 ext. 16 or 22 for instructions.
Submission of digital media implies permission to use them for publicity purposes. Identify each picture with name, title, materials, and dimensions of the works. Please also include a short artist’s statement (In a Word.doc on a CD). Submitted images will not be returned.
It is the artist’s responsibility to insure artwork. All sales will be referred to the artist.
Artist must arrange for delivery and pick up his/her work. The Museum will not accept stamps or checks for shipping. A shipping call ticket and address label may be enclosed.
If artwork is owned by someone other than the artist, a release must be signed by the owner to display artwork.
Delivery of accepted works: Saturday, June 21, 2008 2-4 p.m.. at the Ellen Noël Art Museum. Pick up date: Saturday, August 23, 2-4 p.m. Artist must pick up art work at the Ellen Noël Art Museum. The Museum bears no responsibility for storing or return of any works of art. The Museum will not be responsible for any work left after August 23,, 2008. Accepted work must remain in the Museum for the duration of the show.
Schedule any shipped work to be picked up on August 27, 2008.
If the quality of the work submitted does not match the quality of the work delivered, the Museum reserves the right not to accept the work for the exhibition.
