During the week of June 6-10, Australian artist India Flint will be working with teens ages 13-17 to create unique hand-dyed and stitched garments. Ms. Flint, an accomplished textile artist and world renowned eco-dye expert, will also be showing her own work at the museum.
June 20-24, artist Alex Rubio will be working with teens ages 13-17 complete the garden wall mural for the museum. Mr. Rubio, who is known for both his vivid paintings and his work with teens, will be “on loan” to our community from the Blue Star Museum in San Antonio where he is the current Artist in Residence. Mr. Rubio’s paintings will also be on exhibit at this time.
Applicants will be chosen by the museum education staff, based on completed applications, teacher recommendations and personal interviews, when needed. All program decisions are confidential and final. Applications received after the deadline of April 29th may not be considered. Students may apply for one or both residencies.
